Isabelle Wiessler was born in Paris, France; she lives and works in Stegen near Freiburg/Breisgau, Germany.
She has been working as a full-time artist for several years. Isabelle has been participating in national and international competitions and group exhibitions as well as in various solo exhibitions at home and abroad since around 1995. Her works have been included in various collections including the International Study Center and Museum, Lincoln, USA.
For over 20 years, Isabelle has travelled the world as a lecturer mainly in the field of textile art and mixed media – since 2020 she has also been teaching online. She loves to share her new discoveries and her own techniques with others.
Isabelle is a mixed-media artist with a passion for texture, surface design and area. She is fascinated by the many ways to add lines, shapes and textures to her paintings through sewing and embroidery, creating a “third dimension”. Painting adds an extra dimension to the processing possibilities.
Isabelle has been a member of the QuiltArt group since this year and has been a Juried Artist Member of SAQA since 2014.
