I was born on 30 January 1953 in Neumünster and grew up in Wuppertal-Cronenberg, Lübeck and Bonn. After my high school graduation, I studied English and History in Bonn and worked as a secondary school teacher in Königswinter, Lippstadt, Bückeburg and Hameln. I am retired since 2017, married, have four adult children and live with my husband in a small village near Hameln.
My first contact with Patchwork was an adult class in 2004. Since then I have taken numerous classes, taught textile design, given courses on various topics (e.g. Log Cabin, free cutting technique, convergence, landscape quilts, application technique) and in 2018 I did my teacher training at the Patchwork Guild. In June 2019, I participated for the first time in an international artisan exhibition in Provence.
My focus is on the free design of landscape quilts using different materials. In addition to self-dyed fabrics, photos, watercolors, tulle and lace are also used. I would like to deepen this area further and pass it on to interested people in my classses.
